Biography:
I was first exposed to the physical therapy world when I was 16 years old. I started working in the office of a small outpatient clinic doing mostly clerical work. One day the therapist was short staffed and needed an extra hand. So, I helped her assisting patients with exercises and other minor care. Since that day I have always worked in the physical therapy setting. After only a short time working as an aide, I knew physical therapy was the career for me.
My interest in orthopedics grew stronger the more I was exposed to the various injuries and the wide range of clientele. I choose Oakland University’s Program in Physical Therapy because of their reputation for being orthopedic based.
As a new graduate, I knew I wanted to work at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. I worked in an outpatient setting for 2 years where I saw mostly neck and back pain, shoulder and knee injuries. Though my experience was a great learning environment, I knew it was time for me to move on and broaden my horizons at a larger facility.
When I interviewed at HealthQuest, I knew that it would be a great fit for me because all of the things that I was looking for in a job were there. They focus on manual therapy, functional training and most importantly the needs of the patients. After what was an easy decision, I started working for HealthQuest in April 2009 at the Rochester Hills location.
Staying physically fit and healthy is very important to me and a huge part of my life. I am an avid runner, running a few marathons here and there. I emphasize the importance of health and wellness to all my patients and provide them with a good foundation for making healthy decisions. Therefore, I really enjoy working with young athletes to help them achieve their athletic goals.
