"After giving birth to my 10 lb. son, I started experiencing incontinence during stressful activities such as running, jumping, coughing and sneezing. I learned physical therapy exercises including a 'kegel' to help control my problem. I feel more confident now when I am out in public and know techniques to avoid or minimize any bladder leakage."

Women's Health

HealthQuest is proud to offer Women's Health Physical Therapy. This program is designed to address the special and unique needs of women. A female physical therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation and create an effective and personalized treatment plan. Our goal is to restore normal function, provide pain relief, and ultimately help to improve the quality of your life.

Women of all ages may experience challenging conditions which alter their normal bodily functions.

INCONTINENCE

When women experience a lack of bowel and/ or bladder control, this is called incontinence. Incontinence may be caused by weakness of pelvic floor muscles which form a hammock around the vagina, rectum, and urethra (tube from bladder).

Women may also experience pelvic or abdominal pain which may be closely related to dysfunction in the muscles, joints or nerves.

PREGNANCY

A large number of pregnant women deal with low back pain and other related conditions that affect function.

These problems are not considered normal, and can be treated with physical therapy!
