My interest for the physical therapy profession began in high school.  My brother got into an accident and required physical therapy. My very active brother went from running and playing sports to being unable to walk. Throughout his experience, I learned about the different aspects about the physical therapy profession and how impactful it can be. I watched his physical therapists work with him and was able to see their dedication to helping him regain his prior level of fitness. Watching him get treatment, I knew I wanted to change someone’s life the way his physical therapist did for him.

After high school, I went on to study Exercise Science at Western Michigan University. Throughout my undergraduate education I volunteered at many physical therapy clinics, including HealthQuest Physical Therapy, to gain more experience and improve my understanding of the profession.  Volunteering in a variety of clinic settings further solidified my career choice. After completion of my bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University, I was accepted into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Oakland University. Throughout my education and the completion of my clinical rotations, my love for the profession grew. I still have not found a condition or diagnosis that I do not enjoy treating. I enjoy being able to help people regain their independence and watch them improve their quality of life day to day. I am excited to continue my professional growth and grow as a physical therapist while working at HealthQuest.
