I chose PT as my career path because of my time as a PT patient, which i call the “typical route” of getting into PT. As a competitive gymnast, a runner, and a diver I was no stranger to PT.  I sustained many injuries. My physical therapist was able to locate the root-causes of my injuries and helped to get me back to the sports I loved every time.

I initially went to college with physical therapy in mind; however, I changed my focus to psychology due to circumstances that led me to delve into thought and behavior patterns. When nearing the completion of my psychology degree, I was working as a gymnastics and cheerleading coach. Again, I was exposed to the effects that physical therapy had on athletes, which immediately drew me back in and I was hooked.

I graduated from Oakland University with my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005. I have worked with patients of all age ranges and with a multitude of diagnoses. My goal is to help my patients get back to what they love, be it normal daily activities or sports.  I am married and we have a daughter and a son. Both of my children are involved in sports (gymnastics currently, but I have heard there will be football in my future soon) and I spend most weekends watching them train. We enjoy camping as a family whenever the opportunity presents itself.

HealthQuest was my first employer following graduation. Unfortunately, I moved in 2006 and had to find other employment. I was so excited when I saw the Richmond clinic open in my town and I am so excited to return to the HealthQuest team.
