What sparked my interest in the field of Physical Therapy? As a formerly competitive equestrian, I have been riding horses since I was in elementary school. For those who do not know, horseback riding is an incredibly fun and rewarding sport but it is also intense and can be dangerous. Riding consistently for over fifteen years, I have seen and had my fair share of accidents and injuries. With or without injury, I was always trying  to create exercises that would strengthen and support the weak areas so that I could be successful in my sport.

I truly found my interest in the field around the middle of my college career, specifically after taking a couple of anatomy classes. Later, when I began kinesiology and Ortho courses, I knew I had found something that I loved. The teachings of proper body mechanics and general orthopedics really pulled me into the field and I have never looked back. With all of the knowledge I’ve accumulated through personal experience and my years in school learning from inspiring teachers, I am proud to be able to help others. Whether it be guiding someone in improving their lifestyle, rehabbing an injury or getting an athlete back on track with their favorite sport, I am excited to be a source of support for our patients here at HealthQuest!

My family is amazing and has always been supportive of me, in my horseback riding career as well as throughout my journey to becoming a Physical Therapy Assistant. I am the youngest of three siblings, one of whom recently graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. When we manage to get the whole family together, we enjoy spending time up north and hanging out by the pool with our dog Skeeter. I am so pleased that I ended up in the field of PT! I know that it has positively impacted my life and I look forward to helping more and more people improve their lives through the work of physical therapy.
