My interest in the medical field began as a child. Growing up I was surrounded by health care professionals. Stacey, my sister, was born with a neurodevelopmental disorder causing her many disabilities including movement and balance disorders. She received physical therapy at HealthQuest in Lake Orion, as well as, numerous other facilities throughout her childhood years to help maximize her strength and ambulatory ability. These early life experiences served as my initial motivation behind my Physical Therapy degree.

While completing my bachelor’s degree at Oakland University I began working for HealthQuest as a physical therapy technician in Lake Orion. Here, I was able to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to treatment and patient recovery. It is through this experience as a technician that I gained a full appreciation for the profession and a deep understanding of patient care. After completion of my bachelor’s degree from Oakland University, I was accepted into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program also at Oakland University. Throughout my Doctorate program, I continued to work for HealthQuest as a technician and continued to learn and grow in a supportive and positive environment. I am excited to continue my professional growth as a Physical Therapist at HealthQuest and look forward to the privilege and responsibility of caring for others on their road to recovery.
