Growing up I always thought I would be a teacher. I started my first year at the University of Detroit Mercy in the Education program with plans to become a math and science teacher.  The summer after completing my first year I worked at a summer camp that provided therapy and education to children with cerebral palsy. I immediately fell in love with the therapy side.  Seeing the children make strides in response to their individualized programs was illuminating.

Being active has always been a huge part of my life. I was a collegiate athlete in track and field all 4 years of my undergrad. I took my body’s ability to perform at a high level for granted. Working with children whose bodies did not allow for the same ease of motion was very eye-opening for me.  After that summer I returned to school and changed my major from education to biology with plans on pursuing PT.

As part of my transition into my career switch, I decided to seek out Physical Therapy technician jobs to get more experience in the field. I began working as a technician in the summer of 2014 at HealthQuest at their New Baltimore and Clinton Township locations. Once I began PT school I had to leave my technician job to focus on school. I was able to do a clinical rotation with HealthQuest during my last semester of PT school and was reminded of the high level of knowledge and skill set the PT’s possessed and great quality of care HealthQuest provided.  I knew this was the company I wanted to work for. I am beyond excited to now be working with my role models in the field and begin my PT career where I first started as a technician.  Talk about coming full circle!

My husband Brandon, who is also a physical therapist, and I stay very active and try to do outdoor activities whenever possible. We also enjoy date nights and trying new restaurants in the Metro Detroit area.

I have a very close and supportive family and enjoy spending time with my mom, sister, two brothers, and nephew as well.
