I wanted to be involved in a career that dealt with athletes so in college I started to pursue an Athletic Training degree.  During my 1998 Athletic Training internship at HealthSouth in Hinsdale, IL I discovered my love for physical therapy.  I saw for the first time the difference between an Athletic Trainer and a Physical Therapist.  I knew by the end of that internship that my career path had changed.  I loved what I saw during my time at HealthSouth.  I admired how the therapists worked with the patients and how they helped people regain their quality of life.  I knew then I wanted to do the same!  I wanted to help everyone I could, athlete or not, and help them live life well again.

I moved to the Rochester area in 2001.  This was my first encounter with HealthQuest.  I worked at the Rochester Hills location as a Physical Therapy Aide for 5 years.  I worked there while I was pursuing my PT degree at Oakland University.  Upon graduating, I worked as a Physical Therapist at varied sites; private clinics and hospital-based physical therapy.  I continued to learn and grow as a therapist, providing my patients with better care through new techniques.  I attended multiple continuing education courses and continue to do so.  I found my passion for general orthopedics, post-surgical, and dance medicine.

Growing up and while attending Aquinas College, I danced.  I love dance.  Dance Medicine in physical therapy is something I am the most passionate about.  I am currently pursing my continuing education through the New York School of Medicine (The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries) in hopes to help the young/professional dancers in the area.  I had experience working with my mentor physical therapist in co-teaching a continue education course to local physical therapists on how to treat dance athletes.  I have also had the chance to work at the Fisher Theater in Detroit on the show Kinky Boots helping the dancers with their injuries in between shows.

Another area of physical therapy I love is working with future physical therapists.  I love being a mentor or a clinical instructor for the students.  I am currently a guest proctor at Wayne State University for their physical therapy program.  I was an item writer for the National Physical Therapy Examination in 2015.  Recently, my family and I relocated to the Clarkston area.  I was more than excited to have the opportunity to work for HealthQuest again.  What makes this time even better is that I work for them as a Physical Therapist and at the location where my career began.
