Our facility

Physical Therapy New Baltimore, MI

Conveniently located in the Anchor Bay Aquatic Center in New Baltimore, Michigan. Minutes away from Anchorville, New Haven, and Chesterfield.  We’ve been proudly helping the New Baltimore community since 2014.  As an independent physical therapy facility owned and operated by licensed physical therapists, we emphasize both preventive and rehabilitative techniques that provide the highest quality of care to our patients. We have built a solid reputation restoring people with physical injuries to their maximal functioning level in the most reasonable time possible.

Aquatic Physical Therapy

As the only fully aquatic location throughout HealthQuest, our New Baltimore location takes full advantage of the soothing properties of water to those in search of treatment that can heal the body while improving rehabilitation time frames, fitness levels or reducing overall stress levels.  After your initial evaluation, a licensed physical therapist may design an individualized comprehensive treatment plan that may include aquatic therapy. By conducting your care in water that is maintained at therapeutic temperatures, you will have greater control over your movement with less pain as your body is partially supported by the buoyancy of water.

Aquatic therapy is different from aquatic exercise or aquatic fitness because it is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialty that requires the involvement of a trained professional and is covered by many insurance providers due to the personalized nature of the treatment. This particular type of therapy is used to treat a variety of medical conditions and diseases such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, strokes, Parkinson’s disease, obesity and muscular dystrophy. The use of water allows you to function at levels that are not possible outside of this environment, which affords positive physical gains. The ultimate goal of aquatic therapy is to progress you to a more functional, land-based program.

An aquatic therapy plan of care can help a patient achieve:

  • Less pain with normal, everyday activity
  • Improved endurance throughout the day
  • Greater ability to perform the activities that matter most to you
  • Improved balance and coordination

 Treatment Approach

Our three-phase treatment approach accesses the whole body.  Phase one starts with a comprehensive evaluation to determine the structures causing your symptoms.  This phase focuses on reducing pain and inflammation.  You can expect your therapist to use manual techniques and modalities during this phase.  Phase two continues to reduce pain/inflammation but focus shifts to improving joint mobility, range of motion and strength.  Through stretching and strengthening exercises as well as advanced manual techniques, we will work with you to eliminate your pain and help correct the root cause of your issue.  During this phase, you will see a significant improvement in your overall function.  Phase three is geared more towards normalizing and ensuring your symptoms don’t return. We are confident that we can maximize your outcome with our three-phase physical therapy treatment approach that you can only get at HealthQuest.

Our services include manual therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue treatment (Graston), therapeutic exercise, therapeutic modalities, and strength training.
