During my own rehabilitation was when I fell in love with physical therapy and realized it was the career for me. I graduated from Hillsdale College in 2014 and was accepted into Oakland University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. During my clinicals at Oakland, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including acute care, an outpatient neurological setting and two outpatient orthopedic clinics including HealthQuest. During my clinical at HealthQuest, I was very impressed with their patient centered approach and the quality of care provided to patients and knew it was a perfect fit for me to start my career.
A career day at our high school during that time was held with special guest speaker Ed Martel discussing the field of Physical Therapy, and I was hooked on PT from that very day. As a former collegiate baseball player, staying involved with sports and baseball, in particular, lead me to pursue a career with HealthQuest and the Overhead Athletic Institute. I was able to spend my last clinical experience as a student at Grand Valley State University with HealthQuest, where I was able to learn a tremendous amount from all of the physical therapists here. I was lucky enough to be hired after that clinical experience and become part of the HealthQuest family.
I had the pleasure of being placed within a HealthQuest for clinical rotation in school. I gained additional knowledge and techniques to increase my skills as a clinician. The environment was warm and welcoming and so were the patients. I enjoyed hearing about each unique story and witnessing their successful outcomes. HealthQuest is involved in their communities and upholds a positive reputation, which is why I am honored to be part of a team that allows me to grow and develop as a clinical in helping others live well.
