Stretching & Strength Training

What is Stretching & Strength Training?

Stretching and strength training programs are aimed at improving health, so you can feel better than you did beforehand. It can also be a way to prevent additional impairment or disability when facing certain physical risks. We utilize a stretching and strengthing program in all our patients, however, that will look a little different for every patient.

  • Functional Training – Gray Functional Training is a physical therapy method coined by the Gray Institute. It incorporates Applied Functional Science (AFS), which is based upon proven scientific truth, rather than theory. AFS is a term used to match the best, most effective physical therapy techniques (supported by scientific research) to an individual recovering from a certain condition. At HealthQuest Physical Therapy we implement AFS in the creation of all our treatment plans.
  • Neuromuscular Re-education – Neuromuscular re-education consists of training (or re-training) your muscles, your brain, and the nerves used for them to communicate with each other to improve movement, strength, balance and function.
  • Postural Restoration – Postural restoration focuses on several key aspects that link postural dysfunctions to the interference and damage on polyarticular chains, including: asymmetrical function, hypertoniciy, PRI neuromuscular orthotic principles and more.
  • Therapeutic Exercise – Many people assume that anyone participating in physical therapy treatments is recovering from a recent surgery. However, that is not always the case. Physical therapy provides a multitude of benefits for anyone wishing to restore their strength, endurance, flexibility, or stability. In fact, physical therapy is used as a treatment for any pain, injury, or ailment someone may be facing. Therapeutic exercise is a great way to restore function and live a pain-free life.
