I became interested in Athletic Training due to multiple chronic injuries I had faced during my elite figure skating career. From 2016- 2018, I was a member of Team USA for Synchronized Skating and we never had the privilege of having an athletic trainer. After competing at the World Championships in 2017, I became a patient at the Rochester Central HealthQuest location. I always knew I wanted to play a part in the management of injuries and the rehabilitation process with athletes, and found that athletic training was the perfect path. During my education at Western Michigan University, I had the opportunity to work with their sports teams such as football, hockey, soccer, gymnastics, tennis, and with the team physician. I also had a rotation at a physical therapy clinic and sought out shadowing opportunities in my free time at local high schools. I graduated in the spring of 2022 with my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Athletic Training. I am passionate about ATCs being at all high schools and sporting events for the safety of all athletes. I love that, as an athletic trainer, I am there for athletes through the entire recovery process and it makes transitioning back into their sport and everyday life so much easier. mmichaux@35.173.16.116
