I developed a keen interest in physical therapy during my high school years when I started powerlifting. I was fascinated by the role of human movement in enhancing athletic performance, promoting recovery from injury, preventing future injury, and improving the overall quality of life. This realization sparked my desire to find a career that combined my love of science and my interest in human movement, leading me to physical therapy.
I went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Oakland University, where I had the chance to participate in student research and co-author an original research paper in the scientific journal Medical Devices on the Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of how the human body integrates sensory information and how balance is affected by various factors.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I stayed at Oakland University to pursue my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During my graduate studies, I gained valuable experience researching manual therapies and their effects on the human body. Additionally, I had the opportunity to do clinical rotations in a variety of healthcare settings and work with a diverse patient population. I am thrilled to be working at HealthQuest Physical Therapy and providing my patients with the best care possible.
