I became interested in Physical Therapy due to multiple injuries sustained during my hockey career. Some injuries left me sidelined for weeks, which impacted me emotionally. The biggest motivator in my decision to become a Physical Therapist Assistant came when I broke my arm in 2017, resulting in surgery. The post-surgical treatment I received opened my eyes to the impact this profession can have on the livelihood of others, whether it be rehabilitating an injury, or just getting back to doing the things they love! This led me to work as a technician at HQ Macomb in 2018. During my time there, my passion for helping others grew, and I became more interested in providing the best care possible to ensure other people could go back to doing their favorite activities or participating in sports again. I decided to pursue an Associate’s in Applied Sciences in PTA through Macomb Community college in 2020 and graduate in 2022. This career allows me to apply my passion for health and wellness by providing the care necessary to anyone in need of Physical Therapy.
