Travel Therapists

I was first introduced to physical therapy due to an injury from playing hockey in high school. My physical therapist was phenomenal in treating my injury and returning me to competition. At that moment, I was convinced I would be a physical therapist. My physical therapy career began after graduating from Grand Valley State University in 1996. I pursued additional education with manual therapy certification from the University of St. Augustine in 2002 and residency through Regis University in 2008. I also completed a PhD from Nova Southeastern University in 2019. I am a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Over my career, I have worked in various settings, including sports medicine, orthopedics, occupational medicine, and with the military. I have a deep passion for teaching and have held faculty positions in physical therapy programs at Walsh University in North Canton, OH, South College in Knoxville, TN, and currently at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. I have also presented several continuing education courses on spinal manipulation for the cervical and thoracic spine. I have a passion for research and have published papers and presented at national conferences on dry needling and various topics related to educational research. I am expressly interested in lifestyle factors that contribute to health, wellness, and healing, which include stress management, exercise, nutrition, and sleep hygiene.

I have lived in Michigan most of my life. I was born in Detroit, grew up in the Upper Peninsula, and currently live in Lake Orion. I am blessed to have a wonderful wife, Julie, and son Tyler, who are both my inspiration for everything.
