Laser Therapy

April 26th, 2019

At HealthQuest Physical Therapy, we use the latest in laser technology, the high-powered, Class IV Laser. Compared to other Class II and III laser products, the IV Laser allows for deeper penetrating power, providing quicker therapeutic results. The wavelength also allows for both superficial and deep tissue depth, thereby able to treat both acute and chronic pain conditions. The treatment is painless, safe and has no side effects. Many studies have shown incredible results in the ability of Class IV Laser to regenerate damaged tissue and provide lasting pain relief.

Are You Suffering from pain and looking for alternatives to Medications or surgery?

If so, Class IV Laser treatment may be for you! It is a relatively new treatment that can be used alone or in conjunction with other forms of physical therapy. It is FDA approved, safe and effective with no side effects and can provide immediate relief. It is covered by some insurances and is eligible for HSA payment. There are over 2,500 published research reports confirming the clinical effect of laser therapy.

Class IV laser can treat:

  • Arthritic Pain

  • Low Back and Neck Pain

  • Sprains/Strains

  • Tendinitis/Tendinosis and Bursitis

  • Plantar Fasciitis/Foot Pain

  • Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Headaches and Migraines

  • Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain

  • Frozen Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Injury

  • Disc Herniation and Spinal Stenosis

How does the laser work?

Laser therapy uses a photochemical process that delivers powerful light energy (photons) into damaged cells. This energy increases the cells ability to take in healing oxygen and nutrients and release waste and other toxins. The powerhouse unit of the cell, the mitochondria, is then able to increase the production of ATP, which is the chemical energy required for healing and rejuvenation. In simple terms, laser accelerates healing and the restoration of function by turning light energy into healing energy! Each laser therapy session is accompanied by other modalities (such as hot/cold packs and electrical stimulation) and a corrective exercise prescription.
