Early in high school I became interested in medical sciences and knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. By late high school I had already taken every gym, science, and health class that I could possibly take all the way from archery to contemporary dance. When I ran out of options the high school made an exception for me so that I was able to go out into the real world and shadow a physical therapist two days per week. After that, I decided to combine the rewarding nature of the healthcare profession and my passion towards health/wellness to become a physical therapist.
During graduate school at Oakland University I completed one of many clinical internships at the HealthQuest location in Clarkston. Their manual based approach and treatment styles for rehabilitation helped to improve my clinical skills and challenged me to expand my knowledge base. I loved the company and wished to pursue a career with them following graduation. To my excitement I was hired in 2016 at the Rochester Hills location.
I enjoy working with all types of patients throughout the lifespan. Every patient brings different cards to the table and requires different treatment techniques to fit their specific needs. I love that I have the ability to be creative at my job and to make every treatment unique to every patient. Although I take time to attend continuing education courses to make sure I am up to date on new approaches, I feel that most of my learning comes from my patients. I love that I get to be a part of this rewarding career and I am looking forward to growing as a clinician with HealthQuest.
