Ever since middle school I have wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. An assignment I had in school opened my eyes to the profession of physical therapy and I began shadowing physical therapists in the area. I immediately decided this was the career for me when I saw what therapists were able to do for their patients. I wanted to be able to not only help my patients but also get to know them as people and watch them get better.
After I graduated from Marine City High School in 2005, I was accepted into Grand Valley State University where I received my Bachelors of Science with a minor in Sociology and graduated in 2009. While attending undergraduate school I was able to do a lot of observing in outpatient orthopedic clinics where I discovered my love for orthopedics. I was accepted into the Doctorate Program at Grand Valley where I was exposed to a wide variety of injuries and treatment techniques.
I am enjoying taking all that I have learned and applying it to my patients to help them live more rewarding and functional lives. I continue to look forward to expanding my knowledge base to give my patients the best possible treatment out there. I find what I do to be very rewarding and would never think of doing anything else!
